Abstract
Introduction and goal: The aim of this study was to predict the job engagement of teachers based on self-efficacy, psychological capital, and resilience among primary school teachers in Nurabad Mamasani County.
Research methodology: This study was applied in purpose and, in terms of nature and method, descriptive-correlational and cross-sectional. The statistical population consisted of all primary school teachers in Mamasani County (750 individuals). Using Morgan's table, 256 individuals were selected as the sample. Standard questionnaires were used: Han's (2020) Teacher Work Engagement, Morgan and Lyon's (2001) Resilience, Luthans et al.'s (2007) Psychological Capital, and Schannen et al.'s (2001) Teacher Self-Efficacy. Regression analysis, independent t-test, and SPSS software were used to test the research hypotheses.
Findings: The statistical analyses indicated: Self-efficacy and its dimensions, with a correlation coefficient of 0.725 and a beta coefficient of 0.561, are significant predictors of job engagement. Psychological capital and its dimensions, with a correlation coefficient of 0.657 and a beta coefficient of 0.595, can predict job engagement. Resilience, with a correlation coefficient of 0.695 and a beta coefficient of 0.541, is a suitable predictor of job engagement. The job engagement of female teachers (mean=4.23) was significantly higher than that of male teachers (mean=3.96).
Conclusion:. The results show that self-efficacy, psychological capital, and resilience are significant and strong predictors of teachers' job engagement. Furthermore, the level of job engagement among female teachers is significantly higher than among male teachers.
