Abstract
Introduction and goal: Predicting happiness helps us to gain a greater understanding of the relationship between psychological and behavioral factors such as resilience and job engagement with teachers' happiness and, as a result, to provide needed improvements in the educational environment. The aim of the present study was to predict happiness based on resilience and job engagement of elementary school teachers in Kazerun city.
Research methodology: This research was conducted using a descriptive correlational method. The statistical population of this study is the teachers of Kazerun city, which were 1100 teachers. Using the Cochran formula, 310 people participated in the research. The data collection tool, Connor and Davidson's Resilience Scale (2003), Happiness Questionnaire: Oxford Happiness Test and Kanungu's Job Engagement Questionnaire (1982) were used to analyze the data using SPSS software. The validity and reliability of the scales were also confirmed by previous researchers.
Findings: The results of the study showed that there is a positive and significant relationship between job commitment and resilience (0.612) and with happiness (0.602) at the P<0.01 level. Also, job commitment has the ability to predict teachers' happiness. Among them, attachment to the workplace with a beta of 0.304, enthusiasm (beta of 0.271), loyalty (beta of 0.166), and willingness to work (beta of 0.143) have the greatest contribution to predicting teachers' happiness, respectively. Also, teacher resilience with a beta of 0.406 and job commitment with a beta of 0.320, respectively, at the P<0.01 level, have the ability to predict teachers' happiness.
Conclusion:. The study showed that job commitment and resilience have a significant relationship with elementary teachers' happiness. Strengthening these factors can help increase their happiness.
