Investigating the Teaching Method of the Scientific Tour on the Teaching of Various Types of Architecture Based on Social Studies in the Third Grade of Elementary School

Abstract
Introduction and goal: One of the new teaching methods to discover concepts is the scientific tour method. In this method, learners retrieve information outside of the classroom and school using their surroundings and make connections between textbook concepts and real life. The present research was conducted in order to investigate the application of the scientific circulation method in the teaching of various types of architecture. In order to achieve the goals of the research, firstly examine this teaching method and then its practical example for teaching various types of architecture in different regions of Iran, which is related to the social studies courses of the third grade of elementary school. It is given along with the constructivism lesson plan (5E).
Research methodology: The research method is library-based and with an analytical-applied approach.
Findings: The results of the research showed that the teaching method of scientific tour, in addition to involving the cognitive field, also involves the skill and emotional levels, and by seeing the architecture in the traditional context of Yazd, the learners better understand the characteristics of architecture in hot and dry regions.
Conclusion: Considering the positive effects of this teaching method, including strengthening observational, social, teamwork, critical thinking and motivation skills, it is better for teachers to use this method in their classrooms so that students' learning deepens.
